About Me
I am a highly-experienced Coach, Therapist, Trainer, Mentor and Facilitator who is passionate about helping people to achieve their full potential.
From my base in Cornwall, I help people to recognise their personal strengths, improve their self-confidence, face-up to challenges and achieve the outcomes they want. My breadth of knowledge, experience and services means that I can offer my clients a personalised approach which is based on their individual or organisational needs. This is one of the main reasons that my clients consistently report very successful, sustainable outcomes.
Prior to becoming a Life Coach, I was a successful Chief Fire Officer & Chief Executive in Derbyshire where I received awards in Leadership and Diversity & Inclusion (see below). During my tenure, Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service made such rapid progress that it became widely recognised as one of the highest performing services in the country.

After retiring from public service, I changed direction as I had experienced the strong positive benefits that effective coaching can create. For five years, I was a Director and Regional Manager with Active Plus - a community interest company working with injured military veterans on challenges such as mental health, physical disabilities and unemployment. It was during this period that I met Ash Gordon, my co-author of 'A Life Now Worth Living'.
I now work independently and am proud to have helped people address a wide range of challenges, including: mental wellbeing, self-confidence, motivation, workplace performance, business development, career progression, gaining employment, health & fitness, personal relationships, bereavement, public speaking, time management and much more.
My training and qualifications include:
-
Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), NLP Coaching, Time Line Therapy and Hypnotherapy
-
Executive Coaching & Mentoring
-
Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching
-
MA in Management,
-
BSc (Hons) in Fire Engineering Management
-
Level 3 Award in Education & Training
-
General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, NEBOSH
-
Certified in Mental Health First Aid

I have a regular role with Cornwall's Tri-Service Safety Officers providing high performance, personal resilience and leadership coaching, as well as hosting training workshops and assisting with the service's development.

One of my other regular roles is serving as High Performance Coach for Falmouth Town Football Club, who play in the Western Premier League. A great community-focused club with a strong local supporter base and an emphasis upon volunteering. I really enjoy contributing to the club's high performance ambitions.

I also feel honoured and privileged to be an Ambassador for Georgia's Voice. a Cornwall-based charity for young women, aged 18 to 25 years old, with mental health concerns. Their principles, such as non-judgemental acceptance, empathy, empowerment and working with people to support their journey of self-improvement are wholly compatible with my own coaching practice and personal values.
